Practical tips for Clients and Taskers. Updated: 2026-10-19
FolkNet connects people who need a task done with people who can do it. Ratings, badges and identity checks help, but they are not a guarantee of anyone's honesty, skill or safety. Use common sense and these tips.
Before you agree
- Read the task, the amount and the short agreement carefully. Ask questions in the chat before you accept.
- Check the other person's profile, ratings and reviews.
- Keep all conversation, files and payment inside FolkNet. If you deal or pay outside the app, our protections (holding of payment, disputes, refunds) do not apply.
If you meet in person or visit a place
- Choose a public place and daytime where possible. Tell a friend where you are going.
- Do not go to a place or into a vehicle that feels unsafe. You can decline a task at any time before the item is bought.
- Clients: if a Tasker comes to your home or property, make sure you have suitable insurance.
- Reports from a Tasker (for example about a car or a flat) are information only, not a professional inspection. For a major purchase, hire a qualified professional.
Payments and personal data
- Pay only through the app. Never send money to a person directly and never share card details, passwords or one-time codes with anyone, including someone who says they are from FolkNet.
- Share only the personal data the task needs (for example a delivery address).
- Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your card details.
Report a problem
- In the app you can report an order or a user from the order card, or open a dispute after the item has shipped.
- You can also write to support@folknet.app or use the support chat in the app.
- FolkNet is not an emergency service. In an emergency, call your local emergency number first.
